I was a ham at the time and responded to the Ramsey EOC directly from work. One of the best things I think that I’ve ever done in my life is to reach out to the families of a few hams who were trapped in NYC to let their loved ones know they were safe after making contact with them. I still get chills when I think about it.
I will never forget, and could never forget, even if I wanted to.
